Have You Sown Any Wild Seeds Lately?
                                   (Wildflower seeds, that is)
                                     Color Oklahoma

You can sow some now by donating to Color Oklahoma – Sow Some Wild Seeds!

Here's one way:  support of Oklahoma wildflowers by buying a special vehicle license plate. Each tag costs just $35, with $20 going to Color Oklahoma's program to add wildflowers to state roadsides, parks and other highly
visible public areas. The balance of the tag price goes to the state to cover tag processing and to a general government fund.

Order forms are available from all tag agencies and from the state Tax Commission Motor Vehicle Division. Or email a request for a form to wildflowers@coloroklahoma.org and we'll mail you one. Order yours today!

The more money we have, the more seeds we can buy.  And some of the prettiest wildflowers you’ve ever seen will bloom on our roadsides in spring and summer.

You contribute the money.  We get the job done.  Everyone reaps the rewards!

The seeds will be sown where the most people can see the most flowers.  That’s roadsides, parks and other highly visible public land.

We negotiate the lowest possible seed prices and buy only seeds grown in this region.  Our expenses are low.  Oklahoma’s top wildflower experts advise us for free.  We’re not paid, we don’t have a phone or office, and we use free personal email far more than snail mail.

Color Oklahoma – Sow Some Wild Seeds was created in 2002 and is a project of the non-profit Oklahoma Native Plant Society.  ONPS, a 501c(3) organization, was founded in 1986 and has grown to more than 350 members.

No donation is too large or small.  All are tax deductible.  Some seeds are expensive ($200 an acre) and some are not ($18 an acre).  We like to mix at least five species.  That stretches our money, lengthens bloom times and boosts the odds that at least one or two species will bloom in any given year.
