Loyal Daughters of OCW Scholarship
During their 50th reunion in 1999, the OCW class of 1949 established this scholarship. It is given to a senior student whose need is such that he/she cannot graduate without financial help.
The class of 1949 felt that the scholarship will be of real service to the students of USAO. In 2002, the class of 1949 helped to construct the 49er Chapel Bridge spanning a stream just west of the Alumni Chapel. The total cost of the bridge was approximately $50,000, paid for by alumni and dedicated in November of 2002. Richard Cavin, the bridge architect, skillfully blended traditional campus design elements and building materials to create a picturesque campus scene as viewed from 17th Street.
