Club/Org. Description

This group consists of mainly women, although men are allowed to join, that have a common goal to increase women involvement in science and to educate young girls in the necessary steps to becoming a scientist.  The major project in the fall trimester is the implementation of Women In Technology and Science (WITS) day of workshops with women professionals.  The day is held on the first Saturday in November and consists of 7 workshops that the 5th and 6th grade girls attend.  Emphasis is placed on steps to take in grade school and high school to be successful in whatever career path that they ultimately choose.  The spring trimester is spent working on outreach projects with the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma. This group is open to anyone that is interested in science for women  and science outreach to young girls and women.
