Biography

Dr. Misty Steele is the Academic Resource Counselor and the Retention Officer for USAO.  She has been a member of the USAO staff since 2013 and is currently serving on the Enrollment Management University committee.

Misty is an educational psychologist whose primary areas of interest include student success, academic behaviors, learning strategies, intrapersonal skills, motivation, and the undergraduate experience. She has published and presented on a variety of topics related to higher education.

In her current position, Misty collaborates with students and faculty to increase student academic success and enhance retention efforts. In conjunction with her role as Academic Resource Counselor/ University Retention, Misty teaches an IDS course on college achievement and learning management.

As an alum, Misty is a long-time dedicated member of the USAO community and is a fervent supporter of the university's unique mission.
