A budget deal that prevents any tuition increases this year was announced June 9 at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  The USAO Board of Regents approved a new $13.1 million budget that is mostly unchanged from last year.

Tulsa civic leader Hilary Kitz was named to the board of regents of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma by Gov. Brad Henry this month. The State Senate has announced its confirmation of her appointment. Kitz replaces Chickasha resident Patti LaForge Rogstad who completes a seven-year term in June.

Psychology students at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma recently had a chance to compete against 10 other schools and approximately 100 undergraduate and graduate students during the 27th Annual Oklahoma Psychological Society Research Conference. Ashley Hyde, a psychology major from Altus, placed in the top five for undergraduate research posters.

Most campus offices will close on Fridays this summer to save energy and give employees more time with their families, it was announced recently at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  Work schedules will return to normal after August 7.
