USAO accepts the challenge to provide an academic and social environment that promotes liberal learning.

All universities require a general education curriculum - a combination of basic courses which produce a well-rounded individual. Few universities, though, build an entire concept around their general education program.

But USAO has done just that with a core sequence called Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS). And IDS is the heartbeat of USAO. The program was designed with one basic idea in mind: the citizen of the future must understand the world in ways that reach through specific disciplines - and beyond.
