First Half Lead Gets Away From Drovers
ALVA – Despite leading at halftime, the University of
Science and Arts couldn’t overcome its shooting woes as Northwestern
Oklahoma rallied for a 68-59 win Tuesday night.
USAO found itself up 29-27 at halftime even though the
Drovers had trouble finding its range, and the home team was shooting near
50 percent from the floor. It was more of the same in the second half. The
Drovers hit only 36.7 percent from the floor and only had two players
score in double figures.
Thomas Woods finished with 13 points and added five
assists, two blocked shots and two steals. Dalane Finley scored 11 points
and pulled down six rebounds. DeAngelo Alexander had 10 rebounds and seven
points.
NWOSU was led by a game-high 18 points from Marques Surrell
and 17 points from Gary Nunez.
USAO is at home against Oklahoma Christian Thursday
beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday’s game against John Brown which was postponed
due to the severe ice storm has been rescheduled for Jan. 29.
