Drovers Stun OC

OKLAHOMA CITY – Led by Avery Stevenson’s game-high 21 points, the five Drover starters accounted for 69 points as the University of Science and Arts took down Oklahoma Christian 75-64 Thursday night on the road.

USAO controlled most of the game, but OC (11-11, 5-7) pulled to within one point with 12:13 remaining. Behind an emphatic dunk and foul by Thomas Woods, the Drovers pulled away with a 10-0 run. The Drovers’ 46.3 field goal percentage was their second best shooting performance of the season.

Woods finished with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. Dalane Finley’s first bucket of the game was a slam dunk, and his last bucket was a layup that helped quite the OC crowd and end their last run. The junior finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

Kevin Thames hit three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points with three assists, and DeAngelo Alexander posted eight points and 12 rebounds. Adam Shoffit came off the bench late after Stevenson fouled out and posted four points.

Undefeated and No. 2 Ranked Oklahoma City visits the USAO Fieldhouse Saturday night. USAO (5-15, 5-8) is just a half game behind Oklahoma Christian and John Brown.
