Drovers Stun OC
OKLAHOMA CITY – Led by Avery Stevenson’s game-high 21
points, the five Drover starters accounted for 69 points as the University
of Science and Arts took down Oklahoma Christian 75-64 Thursday night on
the road.
USAO controlled most of the game, but OC (11-11, 5-7)
pulled to within one point with 12:13 remaining. Behind an emphatic dunk
and foul by Thomas Woods, the Drovers pulled away with a 10-0 run. The
Drovers’ 46.3 field goal percentage was their second best shooting
performance of the season.
Woods finished with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting and
5-of-7 from the free throw line. Dalane Finley’s first bucket of the game
was a slam dunk, and his last bucket was a layup that helped quite the OC
crowd and end their last run. The junior finished with 12 points and six
rebounds.
Kevin Thames hit three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points
with three assists, and DeAngelo Alexander posted eight points and 12
rebounds. Adam Shoffit came off the bench late after Stevenson fouled out
and posted four points.
Undefeated and No. 2 Ranked Oklahoma City visits the USAO
Fieldhouse Saturday night. USAO (5-15, 5-8) is just a half game behind
Oklahoma Christian and John Brown.
