Stoker Signs with Drovers

Junior college transfer Sheldon Stoker became the season’s first basketball signee for the USAO men’s basketball team this week, head coach Brisco McPherson announced.

Stoker, a 6-foot guard from Longview, Texas, was a second team all-conference selection last season at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas, after leading the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference in field goal percentage. As a sophomore, Stoker averaged 12.1 points a contest and led the league with 5.1 assists per game.

Stoker joins a USAO squad that has the second highest winning percentage in the history of the NAIA National Tournament of teams that have made at least two appearances. The Drovers are 10-2 overall in the national tournament and are five years removed from the NAIA national title.
