Woods Earns Second Weekly Award
SHAWNEE – USAO’s Thomas Woods posted 57 points and 16 rebounds in two Drover wins last week and was selected as Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 5-11. A local petition is pending to get the weekly award renamed for “The Thomas Woods Award” after the senior earned the first two player of the week awards of the season.
Woods, a guard from New Orleans, La., scored the game-winning basket at Langston and finished with 41 points – the second-best single game total for a USAO men’s player and led the University of Science and Arts to a perfect 3-0 mark to start the season. He averaged 28.5 points, eight rebounds and three steals per game.###
