Men Knock Off No. 14 SNU

CHICKASHA Proving that he wasn't done showing the Sooner Athletic Conference the impact he can make, J.J. Walsh scored a career- and game-high 27 points in the University of Science and Arts' 80-77 win over No. 14 Southern Nazarene here Saturday night.

The junior from Brentwood, N.Y., scored 13 points and added 10 rebounds in Thursdayıs 59-55 loss at defending national champion John Brown in the SAC opener. Walsh followed that with Saturdayıs 10-for-16 shooting performance including three threes.

While Walsh had the game of his Drover career, junior Avery Stevenson came up with some big plays in the clutch. The team's second leading scorer, he only managed nine points, but he scored five of those in the final 1:15.

Stevenson, a junior from Oklahoma City, scored five straight points to help turn a two-point SNU lead into a three-point lead for USAO. He also had one steal and two rebounds in the final minute of play the last rebound gave the Drovers the ball with two seconds left and a two-point lead. He finished
with nine total rebounds and 10 assists.
