SOSU Outshoots
Drovers DURANT Three Drovers scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough to overcome Southeastern Oklahoma's hot shooting as the University of Science and Arts fell 62-89 Monday night to SOSU. USAO's Avery Stevenson led the way with 17 points. Jose Nava posted 14 points, and J.J. Walsh put up a dozen on 4-of-7 shooting. The Savages dominated the scoring, though, by knocking down 63 percent from the floor and 60 percent from the three-point line in the first half. SOSU (3-3) jumped out to a 49-30 halftime lead and cruised to an easy win as the Drovers struggled to find their shooting touch throughout the game. For the game, USAO only converted on 18-of-57 from the floor. After falling to 4-6 on the season, USAO will have the rest of December off before starting Sooner Athletic Conference play at John Brown on Jan. 5. The team begins a three-game conference home stand on Jan. 7 against Southern Nazarene. ### |
