McPherson, head basketball coach of the University of Science and Arts of
Oklahoma, has announced the signing of Illinois all-stater Dexter
Williams. Williams is a 5-10 guard from Chicago Simeon High School who
averaged 10 points per game with six assists and three rebounds.
This highly touted
defender was a large factor in Simeon’s 33-4 season, and he played a key
role in the Wolverine’s run to the state title. In the state semifinal
game Williams held Duke University signee John Scheyer to a season low 18
points.
“Dexter has proven
himself time and again, and I’m confident that he will continue his
success here at USAO. I’m excited to have him on the court for us,” said
McPherson.
McPherson also
announced the signing of 6-5 forward Dalane Finley. Finley is a native of
Forth Worth, Texas, and comes to USAO from North Lake Community College in
Irving, Texas. The Blazers were the 2006 NJCAA Division 3 Champions.
Williams and Finley will join Keaton King of
Ringling in the 2006 signing class.
