Drovers Host OCU in SAC Finals

An upset in Tuesday’s Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals means the University of Science and Arts will play for its third consecutive title on familiar soil. The Drovers will host Oklahoma City at 2 p.m. Saturday at Drover Field.

OCU knocked off No. 4 Southern Nazarene 3-2 in Bethany earning the remaining spot in the finals after No. 23 USAO beat No. 11 Oklahoma Baptist 1-0 Tuesday afternoon to secure its spot.

USAO and OCU have split two games this season. OCU claimed a 3-1 win at home on Sept. 1, while the Drovers won the conference match 3-2 at home on Oct. 21. USAO’s win included a dramatic rally led by Adam Day’s three goals in the final 11 minutes.

The game adds to a long list of Homecoming activities on campus including the men’s basketball season opener against Southwestern Oklahoma at 6 p.m. There is also a tailgate party scheduled throughout the game in the north parking lot.
