Men’s Soccer Wins Third Straight TitleCHICKASHA – Raphael Silvo got off one good shot in Saturday’s Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game. The shot came from over 25 yards away but slid past the diving goalie giving the University of Science and Arts a 1-0 win over Oklahoma City and the team’s third consecutive SAC Tournament title. A Homecoming crowd of over 300 watched as the Drovers fended off shot attempt after shot attempt as OCU desperately tried to even the score over the final 19 minutes of the game. When the game ended, USAO students rushed the field in celebration of the Drovers’ berth into the NAIA Region VI Tournament this week. Freshman goalkeeper Shane Flanagan earned his fifth shutout of the season by stopping eight OCU shots – some from point-blank range. The second-team all-conference selection improved his record to 6-0 on the season. ### |
