Drovers Beat OBU, Advance to SAC Finals

SHAWNEE – Tom Hubbard scored on an assist from Sean Neal in overtime to lead the University of Science and Arts to a 1-0 win over No. 11 Oklahoma Baptist in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals Tuesday.

Both teams had their opportunities, but USAO’s Shane Flanagan stopped seven shots to post his fourth shutout of the season.

The win moves No. 23 USAO into the SAC Tournament Finals for the third year in a row. The Drovers have won the previous two SAC Tournaments and await either Oklahoma City or Southern Nazarene, which met Tuesday in the other semifinal matchup.

No. 4 SNU will host the finals if they advance. If OCU advances, the finals would be held at Drover field. The finals of the SAC Tournament are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
