Drovers Earned Postseason Awards
Senior Adam Day and sophomore goalkeeper Shane Flanagan headlined the awards by earning all-region and NAIA All-American honors. It was the second consecutive season Day and Flanagan earned All-American status. Teammate Jonathan Oman joined Day and Flanagan on the All-Sooner Athletic Conference list as a defender. Chickasha senior Jessie Brown and Cache junior Kacye Godwin were named NAIA-Daktronics All-American Scholar-Athletes. Along with her second consecutive scholar-athlete award, Brown was also named First Team All-SAC. Freshmen Destiny Rachal and Alex Cernigliaro earned all-region acclaim by helping the women to an 11-5-3 finish – best in school history. Rachal earned First Team All-Region as a goalkeeper by posting a 0.95 goals against average with four shutouts, and Cernigliaro was named to the second team after leading the women with 17 points (six goals, five assists). The men just missed out on an at-large bid into the national tournament despite posting a 14-3-3 record and playing in the regional title game. Day finishes his four-year career as the program’s leader in assists (46), and Flanagan will return for his junior season with several team records including nine shutouts and helping set a new record of 16 goals allowed in 2006. ### |
