Coulibally Earns Regional Award

SHAWNEE – One day after USAO senior forward NeNe Coulibally was named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week, he also earned NAIA Region VI Player of the Week.

The West Africa native collected the University of Science and Art’s third SAC Player of the Week honor and its second Regional Player of the Week award for his career-high three goals in Friday’s 5-1 win over John Brown.

USAO, No. 15 in the country, is currently second in the SAC race with the top two teams in the conference earning an automatic bid into the NAIA Region VI tournament Nov. 3-11.

Coulibally, Tommy Hubbard and Rafael da Silva lead the team nine goals each. Hubbard who was the Drovers’ other Regional Player of the Week award winner with three goals scored in a 3-1 win at St. Gregory’s Sept. 14.

The Drovers hosted St. Gregory’s Tuesday afternoon and will play again Friday night at Oklahoma Christian. The doubleheader starts at 6 p.m., and admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
