Drovers Roll Past CavaliersCHICKASHA – In what has become a battle between teammates for the scoring title, Tommy Hubbard posted his second hat trick of the season as the University of Science and Arts pounded St. Gregory’s 4-2 at Drover Field on Tuesday. Hubbard’s three goals answered teammate NeNe Coulibally’s hat trick on Friday against John Brown. Coulibally had tied Hubbard’s team-high nine goals while earning Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA Region VI Player of the Week honors. Tuesday, Hubbard emphatically retook the lead with 12 goals on the season as the 15th ranked Drovers improved to 10-1-2 overall and 5-1-2 in league play. USAO jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half behind Hubbard’s first two goals of the game. Senior All-American Adam Day assisted on the first goal while Coulibally assisted on the second. Wesley Costa scored his sixth goal of the season on an assist from Terry Adamson to give USAO a commanding 3-0 just as the second half started. SGU’s Ronald Flores scored in the 48th minute, but Hubbard’s final goal in the 50th minute put the final nail in the coffin. USAO, second in the SAC, travels to Oklahoma Christian for an 8 p.m. start on Friday. ### |
