No. 17 USAO Keeps Rolling

CHICKASHA – It took the Drovers more than 50 minutes to find its first goal Friday afternoon at Drover Field. But after Nene Coulibally flipped a shot over the goalkeeper’s head and into the back of the net to give the University of Science and Arts a one-goal lead, the game got out of hand.

USAO scored four more goals in only 11 minutes to pull away from McPherson College, Kan., 5-0. The win improves the 17th-ranked Drovers to 4-0-0 on the season and keeps its shutout streak alive and well. USAO has outscored its first four opponents 28-0.

Danny Rodriguez scored USAO’s second goal in the 70th minute, bending one from the left side inside the right post. John Gardner, who assisted Coulibally’s goal, scored in the 80th minute on a breakaway, and Pinny Nijjar gave the Drovers a four-goal lead just 18 seconds later.

Nijjar scored on a penalty kick one minute later, and the home squad put it in cruise control for the 5-0 final. USAO out-shot McPherson 34-3.
