Drovers in PlayoffsCHICKASHA – For the first time, both Drover soccer teams have qualified for the NAIA Region VI Tournament highlighted by the men’s home playoff match at 1 p.m. Saturday at Drover Field. The University of Science and Arts’ men make their fourth consecutive appearance in the region tournament while the women make their first appearance when the team travels to Oklahoma Baptist for a 1 p.m. start Friday. The men’s opponent is still to be determined. The USAO and OBU women have split the season series with both winning at home. OBU won 4-0 on Oct. 3, and USAO won 1-0 Tuesday in the season finale. OBU finished one game ahead of USAO in the conference standings, but USAO finished with one of its best records in school history. Several seniors lead the Drover men including NeNe Coulibally, whose career goals were previously misstated. Coulibally entered the season with 40 career goals, which ranked second in USAO history behind Boniface Oballa’s 49 goals. Coulibally’s nine goals this season ties him for the school record. ### |
