BAYLESS, Kathryn J. Bayless

        Kathryn Jane Bayless was born May 21, 1928, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, to Nannie Mae (Mitchell) and Boyd H. 'Bud' Bayless. Kathryn graduated from Blanchard High School and from Oklahoma College for Women and earned a master's degree from Oklahoma University. She taught in Blanchard, Newcastle, Pawhuska, Enid, Houston, California, and then retired from the Panhandle State University after 22 years of service. She taught English and humanities and was the drama coach. Kathryn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norman, the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, and the Blanchard Alumni Association. She enjoyed traveling and reading. She passed away March 30, 2006, at 77 years of age.
        Survivors include her sister Genelle Richey of Blanchard; nieces and nephews Robbie Canada and her husband Patrick, Jane Brewer and her husband Jess, Scott Richey and his wife Anne; great nieces and nephews Kristin Jane, Chelsea Lee, Roley Clay II, and John Michael. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Reverend Jack Richey will officiate with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery.
