
BONE, Virginia F.
Funeral for Virginia Flint Bone, 86, Temple, Okla., will be at
10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Temple with the Rev.
Trevor Smith officiating. Mrs. Bone died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, in Temple.
Burial will be at Temple Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in
Temple.
She was born Jan. 31, 1919, in Woodward to LeRoy "L.R." and Cora Edith Albright
Flint. She grew up in Englewood, Kan., and after several moves, she graduated
from high school at Pratt, Kan. She then returned to Oklahoma where she
attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha, receiving a bachelor's
degree.
She began teaching school in Temple, and married Donald Bone on
May 22, 1942, at Harrisburg, Pa.. They lived in Albuquerque, N.M., before
returning to the family farm in Temple in 1949. He died Sept. 11, 1977. She
taught home economics at Temple High School for 22 years, retiring in 1982. She
was a member of Temple First United Methodist Church, where she was involved
with the United Methodist Women. She was also a longtime member of the Cotton
County Retired Teacher Association.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law,
Karen Graham and Dan Mauk, Benicia, Calif.; three sons and daughters-in-law:
Mike and Tracie Bone, Cedar Creek, Texas; John and Priscilla Bone, Englewood,
Colo.; and David and Laura Bone, Peoria, Ariz.; two brothers and sisters-in-law:
Leland and Orpha Flint, Pratt, Kan.; and Roger and Barbara Flint, Cedar Rapids,
Iowa; seven grandchildren and three spouses: Jeffrey and Kristi Graham, Walters;
Justin and Laurie Graham, Haslett, Texas; Christi Bone, Galesburg, Kan.;
Courtney and Jack Everett, Wichita, Kan.; Jana Bone, Stillwater; and Rachel Bone
and Landon Bone, both of Peoria, Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren: Colin, Kyle
and Clay Don Graham, Coby Jones, Cayden and Jessie Everett and Gage Graham;
special cousins: Jean Condrey and Dianne Adams, both of Stillwater; other
relatives; and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple First
United Methodist Church.
