memorial service for Beryl Louise Frazee Beckham will be 2 p.m. Monday Nov. 1,
2004, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas. Arrangments are
by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
She was born April 4, 1927, in Enid to
Florence DeVinney Frazee and Lloyd Russell Frazee and died Thursday, Oct. 28,
2004, in Dallas after a battle with cancer. She attended Enid schools, then
Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha and earned a degree from Enid Business
College. She married John W. Beckham Aug. 25, 1947, in Enid. They moved to Tulsa
and lived there until 1969. They transferred to Plano, Texas, until 1974, then
settled in Dallas. She became a real estate agent and soon obtained her broker s
license. She retired from real estate in 1986. She taught Sunday school to 4-
and 5-year-olds and assisted in Bible School, and was an active member of the
Woman s Society of Christian Service at St. Luke s United Methodist Church in
Tulsa. She was the youngest member from the WCS to receive a life service pen
and was selected to represent them for the Mrs. America program in Tulsa. She
also was active in Republican Woman s Club and worked at the polls for several
years.
Surviving are her husband John, of Dallas; four children, Stephen Walker
Beckham of Van Nuys, Calif., Stanley Russell Beckham of Irving, Texas, Bobbye
Louise Beckham of Tulsa and John Martin Marty Beckham of Grapevine, Texas; one
brother, James Frazee; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
