campus family mourns with our bookstore manager, Dana Poag ,in the death of her
father, Larry Bush of Chickasha.
Services for Larry
Joe Bush, 65, are scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Epworth
United Methodist Church in Chickasha. Mr.
Bush was born the son of Joseph Shelby Bush and Gladys Marie Parks Bush on
August 25, 1938, in Arkansas City, Kan. He
died on February 1, 2004, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He married Veda Pike on June 26, 1960, in
Clearwater, Kansas.
Larry grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma and
graduated in 1956, from Newkirk High School.
He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Friends
University in Wichita, Kan., where he played football and held numerous school
records as a wide receiver. After
graduation, he worked for Phillips Petroleum before purchasing his first
Phillips 66 distributorship Walters, Okla.
He later expanded to Chickasha. As
a Phillips 66 distributor, he received numerous awards of recognition for
outstanding performance. Larry
later became general manager for Charles Allen Ford.
He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.
Larry was active in various civic organizations during his lifetime and
was an avid OU Sooner fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include is wife, Veda Bush,
of the home; daughter Debbie Bush of Chicago, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law Dana
& Steve Poag of Chickasha, son and daughter-in law Shelby and Nell Bush of
Dallas; daughter and son-in-law Darla & Stephen Haglund of Dallas; grandson
Joseph Bush of Dallas; granddaughters Hannah, Ellie and Abby Bush of Dallas.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn
Cemetery. Services are under the
directions of McRay Funeral Home.
