
COLEMAN-TATE, Patricia S. Coleman-Tate
Patricia Sue Coleman-Tate died on Thursday,
May 11, 2006, at the HospiceCare of Southeast Florida in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
She was born April 6, 1943, in Omaha, Neb., to Dorothy Cottier Coleman and
Watson Sheffer Coleman.
She lived in Lincoln, Neb., for 18 years and graduated
from Lincoln Northeast High School. She was married to Charles Tate from 1962 to
1971 and had two sons from the marriage: Bradly William Tate and Jerod Sheffer
Tate. She received her Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma College for Women and her
Masters Degree from The University of Oklahoma. In 1985, she received her
Doctorate of Arts in Dance from The University of Northern Colorado. She was the
first Director of Girls Athletics for the State of Colorado from 1974 to 1977.
She was professor of Theatre and Dance at The University of Northern Colorado
from 1977 to 1981. From 1981 until her retirement in 2003, she was a professor
of Theatre and Dance at the University of Wyoming.
She is survived by her two
sons, Bradly and Jerod; a daughter-in-law, Ursula Running Bear; a brother, Jerry
Coleman and his wife Beverly; a sister, Coleman-Harbert and her husband Roger;
eight nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews. She is also
survived by her aunt, Louise Cottier-Graber. Her life with her two sons is what
she loved most. At her request, there will be no funeral services.
A private
