
ELMORE, Mary K. Elmore
Mary Kathryn ""Kaye"" Elmore, 83, died November 1, 2005
at Azalealand Nursing Home. She was born in Lakin, Kansas, October 15, 1922,
daughter of the late Carl Barchet and Judge Della Hutton Barchet. Mrs. Elmore
earned a history degree from Oklahoma College for Women and a master's degree in
Special Education from Georgia Southern College. She was a teacher at Pape
School, Ellis, Pulaski, Wilder and Johnson Schools. She was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teacher's Society and was past
president of the Kensington Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband, Judge David
R. Elmore, Sr. of Savannah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl B. and Ann
Elmore of Savannah; David R. Elmore, Jr. and Marsha Elmore of Green Cove
Springs, FL; brother, Carl Barchet, Jr. of Lakin, KS; two grandchildren, Connie
Bowser and husband, Jimmy of Lake Worth, FL; Barchet Elmore of Clearwater, FL
and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 11:00 am Thursday, November 3, 2005 at
First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Stephen C. Williams and the
Reverend Nell Bordeaux, officiating. Burial: Private. Remembrances: First
