Lucille
Prayer service for Lucille Gatz of El Reno, Okla., will be held at 6 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 21, in the Benson Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Phil Donohoe
officiating. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery under direction of
Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gatz died Nov. 18, 2004, at
Parkview Hospital. She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Union City. She was an El Reno
resident, living most of her life in Canadian County. She attended Oklahoma
College for Women in Chickasha. She worked for the Oklahoma School Land
Commission and for two years was a civil service employee in Hawaii. She was a
member of Sacred Heart Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the
Americas, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and F.C.E.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, L.J. and Hughena (MacLean) Bollinger; a son, Douglas Gatz; a sister,
Lenice Hubbard; and a brother, Thorold J. Bud Bollinger.
She married John C. Gatz on Oct. 6,
1947, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oklahoma City. John
survives her in death.
She is also survived by son and
daughter-in-law, Stanley and Debbie Gatz of El Reno; daughter and son-in-law,
Connie and Bill Glass of Locust Grove; a sister, Margaret Petree of Oklahoma
City; six grandchildren, Tara Bennett, Demos Glass, Justin Gatz, Chris Gatz,
Chad Gatz and Brad Gatz; and five great-grandchildren.
