FREDERICK - Funeral for Frederick resident Cassandra Wand, 58, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with Pastor Sam Moyd, Zoe Christian Center, officiating. Ms. Wand passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, in Lawton. Burial will follow in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Cassandra Wand was born July 23, 1955, in Frederick, to Warren and Evelyn Wand. She resided in Frederick for the majority of her life and attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating in 1973. She attended and graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 1977, with a degree in speech therapy. She was employed by Frederick Public Schools as a speech therapist. Cassandra retired in 2010 after her health failed. She accepted Christ as her savior when she was 13 years old. She taught Sunday school and served as Sunday school superintendent. She also sang in the choir. Cassandra became a member of Zoe Christian Center in the 1990s, where she served on the hospitality committee. She also was a teacher in the Zoe Kingdom Kidz Children's Church. She was devoted to the word of God, and her prayer life was unmatched. Even when her health failed, she remained faithful to her commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. Cassandra was an avid sports enthusiast, and she was a devoted OU football fan. She enjoyed playing word games. She was the most generous person anyone would ever meet. She loved people, and she loved her family which was shown as Cassandra took care of her parents until they passed away. Survivors include a sister and brother-inlaw, Tom and Ann Loving, Lawton; four brothers and sisters-inlaw: Vaughn and JoAnna Wand, Chickasha; Darryl and Beverly Wand, Dallas, Texas; and Chris Wand, Houston, Texas; a half brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Helen Wand Jr., Oklahoma City; an aunt, Ernestine Phea, Lawton; six nieces and four nephews; a host of extended family members; and three special friends who she remained connected with until she left this earth: Millie Banks, Helen Mitchell and Linda Mathews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, a brother; and a special friend, Ann Mitchell. An online gift book is available at www.jacksonfuneral.net
