Funeral services for Gloria June Fuller, 82, of Purcell were held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Union Hill Baptist Church in Purcell. Services were under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Mrs. Fuller went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Purcell. She was born on November 27, 1931 in Purcell, and was the older of two children born to Raymond Ralph Jones and Myrtle Lorraine (Taylor) Jones. June grew up west of Purcell and attended Washington Schools. After graduating from high school in 1948, she attended college at Oklahoma College for Women (later University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma) in Chickasha where she received her Bachelors of Home Economics and met her future husband, Bill. Later, she completed a Masters of Home Economics from Oklahoma State University. On June 7, 1952, at Union Hill Baptist Church, June married the love of her life, Bill Fuller. For the past 61 years, June and Bill have been inseparable. In her earlier years, she taught school in Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas. In 1980, Bill and June moved to New Mexico. For the first several years there she worked as the food service supervisor at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque subsequently spending the next 12 years working for the Albuquerque Public Schools as the Nutrition Coordinator, retiring in 1992. In 2002, June and Bill moved back to the family farm West of Purcell, Oklahoma to pursue their retirement dreams. She was a strong Christian woman and a faithful member at the Union Hill Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors and working with her hands in her flower and vegetable gardens. In fact, if the weather permitted, she spent more time outside than inside. When she could not be outside, she also enjoyed quilting, sewing and needle point. Family was everything to June. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a special sister, aunt, cousin and mother-in-law. She will also be remembered as a dear friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Myrtle Jones. She is survived by her husband, U.S. Army Colonel (Retired) Bill Fuller of the home in Purcell two sons, U.S. Army Colonel (Retired) Mike Fuller and wife, Charlene, of DuPont, Wash., and U.S. Army Major General Kurt Fuller and wife, Sheila, of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii one brother, Donald R. Jones and wife, Nema, of Purcell six grandchildren, U.S. Army Captain Melissa King and husband, U.S. Army Captain Justin, of Graham, Wash., U.S. Army Captain Courtney Fuller of DuPont, Wash., Sarah and Emily Fuller of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and Jackson and Salish Fuller of DuPont, Wash. one great-grandson, Maverick King of Graham, Wash., several cousins and many other loving relatives and friends.
