Jean Ann Bassett Jean Ann McKee Bassett, 77 of Anadarko, Oklahoma was called home by the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born November 13,1936 to David and Marie (Booker) Cowan in Altus, Oklahoma. She was as graduate of Chickasha High School with the class of 1954. She also attended OCW in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Verlon McKee in 1954 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. From this union was born three children, he preceded her in death in 1991. She worked on the County Election Board for Caddo County for several years. She worked at Western Electric in Anadarko for several years in Public Relations. She was Church Secretary for the First Baptist Church for years, she taught Sunday School and she was a sponsor for Falls Creek several years, enjoyed working in her garden. Jean Ann was an excellent cook, seamstress and artist. She was united in marriage to Ron Bassett in 2004 on a Cruise Ship in Hawaii.( Ron said the first time he ask Jean Ann to marry him she said, "No", it's to soon, but several dates later she was taken by his charm). She gained another daughter and son with this union. Jean Ann was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed family gathering and especially traveling with Ron. She touched many lives while on this earth and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Ron of the home, two sons, Rick McKee and wife, Vicki of Anadarko, Oklahoma and Phil Bassett of Lawton, Oklahoma, three daughters, Debbie Zerger and husband, Doug of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Teri Jean Cunningham and husband, Dr.Jay Cunningham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Dena Lee and husband, Troy of Lawton, Oklahoma, one brother, Pat Cowan and wife, Marty of Verden, Oklahoma, two sister, Linda Cowan and Sandra Harriman and husband, David all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, fourteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Jean is preceded in death by her parents her first husband, Verlon McKee and a brother, Mike. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 27, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Anadarko. Rev. Dave Gardner will be officiating.
