Helen Constance Boggs departed this life on Oct. 19, 2012. She was born to Dotson and Ruth Harbison on Aug. 17, 1922 in Chickasha, OK. She was raised there with four sisters and while attending the Oklahoma College for Women met William 'Bill' Boggs who came to Chickasha from his home in Winner, SD, to work at an Army Air Force Pilot Training Center. They fell in love and enjoyed a marriage of 67 years. Helen was a loving wife to her husband, a loving Mother to her only child, Jim Boggs. She was preceded in death by her sisters and husband who passed ten months prior to her death.
Dorman Anderson, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Rod Payne and Rev. Howard Chapman officiating. Burial will follow the service in Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Lunns Colonial Funeral Home. Dorman was born on August 18, 1926, to Joe and Mae (Leavell) Anderson in Ryan, Oklahoma, the oldest of three children. After attending and graduating from school in Terral, Oklahoma, he entered the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for two years.
Linda Sevier Feb. 18, 1945 - Oct. 24, 2012 Funeral service for Linda Sevier, 67, of Chickasha, will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Chickasha. Linda was born Feb. 18, 1945 in Chickasha, to Gaylord and Norma (Pruner) Knowles. She lived her entire life within the city limits of Chickasha. She graduated from Chickasha High School with honors in 1963. She attended and graduated from USAO with a double major in speech therapy and deaf education in 1966.
Linda Sue Miller, 63, of Mountain View, OK passed away on Sunday, October 14th, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born on April 27, 1949 in Carnegie, OK to Troy Bill and Opal Pauline (Flinn) Miller. She grew up in the Mountain View area and graduated from Mountain View High School in 1967. She received her bachelors degree from USAO in Chickasha, OK . She earned her master’s degree from Ohio State University. She worked towards attaining her PHD while living in San Antonio, TX. She worked at the V.A. Center in San Antonio, TX where she was a counselor.
Leon Joseph "Bo" Carter lll, 50 of Anadarko, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born September 21, 1962 to Leon Joseph Carter Jr. and Frankie Ware in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Broxton High School with the class of 1980. He attended USAO in Chickasha where he received an Associates Degree in Art. He received his Realtor License, his CMA Degree and had worked in the Silver Crest Nursing Home in Anadarko, the nursing home at Cyril and Chickasha. He was very talented and had a great sense of humor.
NORMAN - Joseph Charles “Joe” Myers, 53, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang, with interment in Independence Cemetery east of Norman. He was born April 24, 1959, in San Antonio to James E. and Elia C. (Sifuentez) Myers. His early years were spent in San Antonio, Clovis, N.M., and Noble. He was a graduate of Noble High School and had a degree in secondary education from USAO.
Evelyn Bass ENID - Funeral for Evelyn Bass will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at The Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Thomas House, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Service is under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Evelyn was born November 6, 1928, in Lone Wolf, OK, the daughter of Leo and Hanna Schreiner Thur, and passed into eternal life November 7, 2012. She was a graduate and valedictorian of Lone Wolf High School in 1946.
DUNCAN - Norma Gene Click, 89 of Duncan, passed away Monday, Oct. 08, 2012 at the Sterling House of Duncan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dick Greenwood and Rev. Bryan Pain officiating, interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Norma Gene Shipley was the oldest of three children born to George Robert and Ada Elizabeth Shipley; she was born in an oil field camp between Shamrock and Drumright in Creek County.
B. Jeanneane Lake Jeanneane passed away September 30, 2012, 41 days shy of her 84th birthday, with family members and friends present. She was born November 10, 1928 in Chickahsa, Okla. to parents Vernon E. Judge Thornton and Kathryn Katy Marshall Thornton. They had raised their family near Ninnekah, Okla. She was the youngest of their three daughters and one son. She graduated high school in Ninnekah in 1946 then attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla. She later attended U.C. California in Merced, majoring in Accounting Principals.
Funeral services for Ronnie McDaniel, 58, of Chickasha, will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Wallace Boyd and Rev. Roscoe Strunk officiating. Ronnie Keith McDaniel was born Oct. 29, 1953 in Clinton, the son of Cleo and Louise McDaniel. While surrounded by his loved ones he went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, in Oklahoma City. Ronnie graduated from Chickasha High School in 1971 and attended Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts and graduated with an Associates Degree in Business in 1973.
