Award-Winning Artist Exhibits Colorful Works at USAO

CHICKASHA – Thirteen years after earning an out-of-state education and traveling abroad, nationally renowned artist Kristy Lewis Andrew has returned to her Oklahoma roots. Beginning Sept. 10, her works will be on display at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha.

Cecil Lee, regents professor of art and director of USAO’s Art Gallery, said Andrew is one of the state’s up-and-coming artists of note.

Chinese Acrobats Bring Wonder to USAO Stage

CHICKASHA – For more than 27 centuries, Chinese acrobats have been thrilling audiences worldwide with mesmerizing acts of daring and grace. And on Sept. 6, the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats will add Chickasha to their world tour.

Closing Reception for Art Exhibit ‘Pin-Ups’

Three USAO art seniors extend personal invitations to the community to attend a closing reception for their art exhibit, “Pin-Ups,” Sept. 7 from 5-8 p.m. in the Davis Hall third floor art gallery. During the reception, guests can meet the artists and purchase artwork. The art show runs through Sept. 15 and is open Mon.-Fri. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

USAO Psychology Department Presents Research at New Orleans Conference

CHICKASHA – At a recent psychology conference drawing thousands worldwide, five members of the University of Science and Arts community joined the nation’s top psychology experts and students to present research. Guest speakers at the event included celebrities “Dr. Phil” McGraw, Bill Cosby and a host of renowned psychologists.

USAO Opens Spring Italy Trip to Public

CHICKASHA – While the world is busy debating over Dan Brown’s “DaVinci Code,” the University of Science and Arts is going straight to the source. In May, USAO is hosting its annual tour of Italy with an invitation that extends beyond the campus to surrounding communities.
