Rheta Nadine St. John Pike June 14, 1926 - Sept. 21, 2012 Graveside service for Rheta Pike, age 86, of Chickasha, was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha. Ron Blankinship officiated. Rheta Nadine St. John Pike was born the daughter of Charles St. John and Elsie Goode St. John on June 14, 1926 in Minco. She died on Sept. 21, 2012 in Chickasha. Rheta moved to Chickasha as a young child and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1944. She attended Abiline Christian University and OCW, graduating from OCW with a teaching degree. After receiving her Masters Degree from Texas Midwestern University, she taught school in Sapulpa, Verden, Wichita Falls, Chickasha and California. She married Harold Gene Pike on June 6, 1948 in Chickasha and to this union was born two children, Hal and Ileta. Rheta was a member of the Chickasha Golden Tones Chapter of Sweet Adelines. After retiring, she volunteered for the Grady Memorial Hospital Auxillary. She was a member of Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Rheta was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ardath Martin, husband Gene and son Hal. Survivors include daughter: Ileta Duffle of Chickasha; Five Grandchildren; Five Great-Grandchildren; and Honorary Son: Earl Poytress of Colo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern Oaks food and clothing room c/o Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
