Dr. Dan Hanson, professor of music at USAO, is taking to the keyboard when “Buddy Holly” comes to town. Hanson, known for his rock ‘n’ roll history forte on campus, is joining the Buddy Holly tribute band Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chickasha High School Fine Arts Center. Legendary guitarist Tommy Allsup, Holly’s guitar player at the time of his death, leads the band while Chicago-based Johnny Rogers performs as Holly, the 50s rocker who recorded such classics as “Peggy Sue,” “That’ll be the Day,” “Maybe Baby” and others. Tickets are $17.50 for adults and $10 for children by phone at (405) 243-7252. Additional information is available from event planner Bruce McGrew at the same number or online at www.okmusicshow.com/2.html.
