SHAFFER, Mignon (King)

Alumna and former USAO Alumni Association board member Mignon (King) Shaffer, 65, of Chickasha, died on Jan. 31, 2013, at home. A memorial service was set for Feb. 4 at Bible Baptist Church.

 

Mignon (King) Shaffer was born April 25, 1947 in Chickasha, Okla., the daughter of L.H. (Son) King and Georgana (McCarrick) King.

She was raised in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1965. She and Jake Shaffer were married August 12, 1965 in Chickasha and started their family. Mignon was a stay at home mom at this time.

 

Mignon received her BS in Education from USAO in 1991. She worked as a real estate agent, was owner of Jake's Rib Restaurant and was a teacher. She was a family business owner at Star Trophy. Mignon had lived in Weatherford, Cement, Cyril, Chickasha and Wetumka. 



 

She was a member of the USAO Alumni Association and a former member of its advisory board. Mignon was preceded in death by her father, L.H. (son) King and mother, Georganna King.

 

Survivors include her husband: Jake Shaffer of the home; two sons, Phil Shaffer and wife, Melanie, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Scott Shaffer of Chickasha, Okla.; three grandsons, Heston Shaffer of Chickasha, Okla.; Braden Shaffer and Cade Shaffer of North Richland Hills, Texas; niece, Shelby Gray and husband, Jerrod, and sons, Payton and Max of Tuttle, Okla.; nephew, Chad Schneider of Chickasha, Okla. 



Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
