‘USAO Night Live’ Provides Entertaining, Informational Evening for Potential Students

CHICKASHA –With the 2007 school year quickly closing, high school seniors and parents alike are looking for college options. With that in mind, the University of Science and Arts is offering a fun, free evening of entertainment and education that’s sure to equip students and parents with the know-how for college life at USAO.

On March 13, from 6-8 p.m., the University will host USAO Night Live, a fast-paced evening complete with a free meal, live music and entertainment in the Student Center. The evening will focus on important college issues like admissions, financial aid, dorm life and more.

“USAO Night Live is a great way for students and parents to learn about USAO and college life while having a fun time,” said Erin Gray, admissions counselor. “Everyone will get to ask questions, and they’ll even get to witness what one of our famous IDS classes looks like.”

During a special demonstration, two USAO professors will give a humorous glimpse at how team-taught courses often include instructors from opposing sides in the heat of debate. Live music for the evening will be provided by the USAO Key Players, a quintet composed of four synthesizer keyboards and electronic drums that plays everything from Bach to the Beatles.

“The evening should be as educational as it is entertaining,” Gray said.

Representatives from admissions, financial aid, student services and academics departments will be on-hand for questions and information. USAO alums will join the event with personal testimonies about their education and life after college, including students whose children are now attending USAO.

Although high school seniors and their families are encouraged to visit, the event is open to “non-traditional” students who may have finished high school but have not completed a degree.

USAO Night Live is free but requires an R.S.V.P. Reservations are available by phone at (405) 574-1357 or by email at usao-admissions@usao.edu. Registrants should provide full name, phone number and a proposed college major.
