Funeral Mass for Florence Ellegood Wade, 86, of Lawton, will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. James D.M. Stafford, pastor, and the Rev. John Wade, Tulsa, officiating.

A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Wade died Monday, March 21, 2005, in Lawton.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Lawton, to Claude and Iva Clare Richards Ellegood. She attended Lawton Public Schools and was a graduate of Lawton High School. She furthered her education at the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She married Jarrel Wade on Oct. 18, 1941, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He died in 1985. She was a sustaining member of the Junior Service League, director of the volunteers at Southwestern Hospital and administrator's assistant for the local social security office. She was a member of a World War II support group named "the War Brides."

Survivors include five children: Blake, Oklahoma City; Lance, Mark and Kelly, all of Lawton; and Jady Ann, Columbia, S.C.; two sisters: Helen Conn, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Francis Griffin, Lawton; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Richard Laverne Ellegood and Donald R. Ellegood.
