RSU Take Two from Drovers
CLAREMORE – Leslie Beaty and Sarah Jamison scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings, but it wasn’t enough to derail the No. 11 team in the country on their home field. Rogers State took Tuesday’s doubleheader 7-2 and 2-0 from the University of Science and Arts and swept the season series.
With three series remaining in the regular season, USAO finds itself in seventh place in the league with two fewer losses than Oklahoma Baptist. The Drovers (18-21-1 overall and 8-12 in the SAC) will meet OBU (20-30, 8-14) April 29 in the regular season finale.
Before that finale, USAO will have faced a brutal stretch of games including the top five teams in the league in succession – including No. 3 Lubbock Christian twice – and five top-15 teams with a combined record of 204-40. Two of the team’s final nine doubleheaders are on the road.
Following the finale at OBU, USAO will play in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament scheduled for May 2-3 at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
