How
to set up your USAO email account: The format that USAO uses for naming the student email addresses is very simple. Basically, it’s the word “stu” followed by your first name and last name, which in turn is followed by “@usao.edu”. So, for example, if your name is John Smith, then your email address would be stujohnsmith@usao.edu. Your password that’s automatically assigned to you is the first initial (uppercase) of your first name followed by the first initial of your last name (also uppercase), followed by the last four digits of your social security number. So for example, if John Smith’s social security number is 111-33-1001, then his password would be “JS1001”. NOTE: If your pre-assigned password doesn't work for you, then try switching around your initials. To check your email,
go to http://webmail.usao.edu, OR go to
the main USAO page (http://www.usao.edu) and click on the
Webmail link near the bottom right-hand corner of the page. Once there, you can
log in to your account with your username and password, and send & receive email
using your USAO email address. In the past, we’ve used a different format for naming the student email addresses; so if this current format doesn’t work for you, then you’re probably set up under the old format. In that case, please come by Information Services in Austin Hall (Room 113) and talk to any one of the staff there. They will be more than happy to help you out. And lastly, please check out the USAO Information Services page (http://www.usao.edu/infoservices) which has:
