USAO SCHOLARSHIPS

FRESHMEN
All
incoming freshmen are encouraged to complete the scholarship application which
is a part of the Application for Admissions.
All scholarships are competitive and may change annually depending upon
scholarship funding availability and other institutional factors.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Notices are sent out to students who qualify for freshmen scholarships
beginning in March. Please note
that students may only receive one academic scholarship unless otherwise noted.
Freshmen receiving a one-year scholarship are encouraged to apply each
spring for the continuing student scholarships.
Students must be enrolled full-time and be pursuing a degree program.
Academic Scholars Program:
(Priority date: February 10)
Students
automatically qualify for the Academic Scholars Program by being named a
Presidential Scholar by the U.S. Department of Education, a National Merit
Scholar or National Merit Finalist, or by scoring in the 99th
percentile on a National ACT.
Student will apply directly to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

In
addition to automatic qualifiers, three additional Academic Scholars are
selected each year by institutional nomination.
The recipients of these three scholarships must meet at least one of the
following requirements: 1) have a
National ACT composite score of 30 or the SAT equivalent and a 3.5 GPA, or 2)
have a GPA of 3.8 on a 4.00 scale or higher and rank in the top 4% of their high
school class. Student will apply
through the USAO scholarship application.
These
are four year scholarships maintained with a graduation retention GPA of 3.25.
Completion of 24 hours minimum each academic year is also required.
Scholarship covers tuition, fees, room and board (if dependent and living
on campus). The room waiver is a
double occupancy room in Sparks Hall or the equivalent amount towards an
apartment in Lawson Court. The meal
plan is the 15 meals per week or one of lesser value.

Regent’s Baccalaureate
Scholarship:
(Priority date: February 10)
This
four-year scholarship is awarded to high school seniors having a National ACT
score of at least 30 and an exceptional high school GPA and rank (Preference
given to 3.50 GPA and higher). Must
be an Oklahoma resident. Recipients
of this scholarship must maintain a graduation retention GPA of 3.25 and
complete 24 hours each academic year to maintain the scholarship.
Scholarship covers tuition, fees, room and board (if dependent and living on
campus). The room waiver is a
double occupancy room in Sparks Hall or the equivalent amount towards an
apartment in Lawson Court. The meal
plan is the 15 meals per week or one of lesser value.

Presidents’ Leadership
Scholarship:
(DEADLINE:
February 10)
Four-year scholarship awarded to high school seniors having a GPA of 3.5 on a
4.0 scale and a composite ACT score of 24.
Membership in three school organizations plus civic involvement, and a
minimum of three letters of recommendation are required.
Must be an Oklahoma resident. A personal interview is conducted for
finalists. Recipients must maintain
contract requirements (GPA, attendance, leadership positions, participation,
etc.) for renewal each year.
Applications and supporting documents must be received in the Financial Aid
Office on or before February 10 to be considered.
No exceptions.
Scholarship is a tuition waiver for $2,800 and a room waiver for a double
occupancy room in Sparks Hall or the equivalent amount towards an apartment in
Lawson Court.
Estimated value: $5,300 per year.
Foundation Scholars Award
(Priority date: February 10)
Four-year scholarship awarded to high school seniors having a GPA of 3.25 on a
4.0 scale and a composite ACT score of 27 or higher.
The scholarship may be awarded in addition to the Academic, Talent Plus
or Welcome to Oklahoma Scholarships for recipients meeting the academic profile.
The number of scholarships is limited and selection is competitive.
A cumulative college GPA of 3.00 is required for renewal.
U.S. Citizenship required, not restricted to OK residents.

Academic Scholarship:

Available to high school seniors having a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a
composite ACT score of 27 or higher.
This is a one-year scholarship.
Oklahoma residency is required.
Scholarship is a tuition waiver.
Can be stacked with Foundation Scholars or Drover Merit Award.

Drover Merit Award:
(Priority Date: February 10)
Competitive and limited scholarship for entering freshmen having a 27 ACT and a
3.5 GPA or higher. One year cash
award that can be used for any educational expenses such as fees, books, or room
and board. The scholarship may be
awarded in addition to the Academic, Talent Plus or Welcome to Oklahoma
Scholarships for recipients meeting the academic profile.
U.S. Citizenship required, not restricted to OK residents.
Estimated value: up to $2,000 per year
University Scholarship:

Available to high school seniors having a GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and a
composite ACT score of 25 or higher.
This is a one-year scholarship.
Oklahoma residency is required.
Scholarship is a tuition waiver.

Green & Gold:
(Priority Date: February 10)
Available to high school seniors having a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a
composite ACT score of 24 or higher.
This is a one-year scholarship.

Talent Plus:
(Priority date: April 15)
Given
for talent in Art, Drama, and Music.
Available to high school seniors having a GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and
a composite ACT score of 25 or higher.
This is a one-year scholarship.
Oklahoma residency is required.
A demonstration of talent is required through an audition, portfolio,
etc. Scholarship is a tuition
waiver.

Talent:

Auditions are required.
Scholarships are tuition waivers for one year.
Amounts will vary based on experience and skill.
Athletic Scholarships:
Athletic
scholarships are awarded through the athletic department.
Third Trimester Enrollment
Scholarship:
The
Third Trimester Scholarship is available to any Oklahoma Resident who is a
graduate of an Oklahoma high school and enters USAO as a beginning first-year
student (earning a minimum of 12 hours each trimester).
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours during the independent
study and/or summer term to qualify.
The scholarship waives tuition up to 14 credit hours.
The scholarship will be available for a total of three consecutive years
if the student makes satisfactory academic progress and remains in continuous,
full-time attendance.

Concurrent Student Tuition
Waiver
This
scholarship is a tuition waiver for high school seniors who are admitted under
the Concurrent Admissions Policy requirements.
The scholarship waives tuition for up to 6 hours each term.
CONTINUING STUDENTS
Continuing Student
Scholarships:

Students
who have been attending USAO are encouraged to apply annually.
These scholarships are funded by the USAO Foundation.
The Foundation has a significant number of scholarships for continuing
full-time students. Most
scholarships require full-time enrollment status and a minimum of a 3.00 GPA.
The scholarships are given in consideration of a variety of criteria.
Estimated value: $200 to $1,000 per
year

TRANSFER STUDENTS
All-Oklahoma Academic Team
Scholarships:
(Priority Date: June 1)
Two
full-tuition waivers awarded to Oklahoma students who are recognized as members
of the All-Oklahoma Academic Team at two-year colleges in Oklahoma and have a
cumulative transfer GPA of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale.
The two year scholarship is renewable with a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
Transcript, resume and proof of recognition required with scholarship
application. Scholarship is a
tuition waiver.
Estimated value:

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
(Priority Date: June 1)
Full-tuition waiver awarded to Oklahoma students who are Phi Theta Kappa
members; have completed an associate’s degree; show academic excellence,
leadership service and campus involvement.
This is a one-year scholarship.
The scholarship is highly selective and competitive.
Transcript and resume required in addition to the scholarship
application. Scholarship is a
tuition waiver.

Transfer Scholarship:

Available to Oklahoma students transferring to USAO.
Student must have a 3.00 GPA and be making satisfactory academic
progress. Full academic transcripts
from all prior colleges required with scholarship application.
Awards are competitive and values range according to academic profile.
The scholarship is for the current academic year only.
Scholarship is a tuition waiver.

NON-RESIDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Welcome to Oklahoma
Scholarship:
(Priority Date: June 1)
This
four-year scholarship waives the additional non-resident tuition for first-time
freshmen students who are U.S. Citizens whose primary residence is outside of
Oklahoma. Requires at least a 24
ACT or 1090 SAT, and a high school GPA of 3.00.
Students must be a full-time, degree-seeking student.
Maintenance requires a GPA of 2.75 and satisfactory academic progress.
Transfer students are considered based on their academic profile from all
college transcripts. Scholarship is
a full waiver of non-resident tuition.
Estimated Value: $5,280 to $7,900
per year
Out of State Tuition Waiver:
(Priority date: June 1)
This
four-year scholarship waives some of the additional non-resident tuition for
students who are U.S. Citizens whose primary residence is outside of Oklahoma,
are admitted under regular admissions, and enrolled full-time.
Recipients of this scholarship must maintain a 2.00 GPA and meet
Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Continuing students who later earn a cumulative 2.75 GPA for their college work
can be reviewed for the full non-resident tuition waiver.
Eligibility for transfer students is based on their grade level according
to the transcript history.
The
scholarship will be awarded according to the following chart, however the
scholarship cannot exceed the actual amount of non-resident tuition charged to
the student’s account.

Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Eligibility for transfer students is based on their grade level according to
their transcript history.
The
