CHICKASHA – No one really saw it coming, but the University of Science and Arts finished the season on a six-game winning streak and captured an automatic bid into the 2009 NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City. USAO will be making its fifth appearance overall and second in a row.

CHICKASHA – Senior shortstop Leslie Beaty blasted home runs in the fifth and the sixth innings to power the University of Science and Arts to an 11-6 win in game one of a Tuesday doubleheader sweep of Mid-America Christian at Bill Smith Ballpark. USAO rolled to a 14-0 win in game two.

CHICKASHA – Scoring the winning run in the sixth inning of game one and a run-rule win in game two, the University of Science and Arts took both games of Saturday’s doubleheader at Bill Smith Ballpark.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The clock struck midnight for this year’s Cinderella team Thursday afternoon as the University of Science and Arts fell behind early and lost to Union, Tenn., 82-63 in the first round of the national tournament.

CHICKASHA – Tuesday’s baseball game at Cameron has been canceled. The game was originally scheduled as a nine-inning contest at home, but was moved to Aggie Field in Lawton. The game has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. April 21 in Lawton.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rallying from a five-error game one loss, the University of Science and Arts’ softball team made play after play in the field to secure a 4-2 game two win to split Tuesday’s doubleheader at Oklahoma Christian.

Ten was the magic number for the Drovers on Tuesday as both soccer teams shut out Wayland Baptist University teams 10-0, and the men became Sooner Athletic Conference regular season champions for the first time in school history.

SHAWNEE – The upset-minded Drovers were turned away by fourth-ranked St. Gregory’s during Thursday’s rainy road doubleheader. Except for two game-changing innings, the University of Science and Arts had their chances to collect wins against the conference’s second best team.
