Enrollment
Students must first be
admitted to the University. After admission, enrollment involves a few
simple steps:
-
Current
students should go to
Registrar's Office (Troutt Hall room
204) for an enrollment form. New students must go to the Admissions'
Office (Troutt Hall, room 225) for advisor assignment and advisement form.
-
Then,
students should see their assigned advisor for consultation and
signature. Every student who enrolls at USAO has one, and that faculty
member is, in some ways, a friend for the duration of one's university career.
It's up to that individual to guide a student through the enrollment process;
to help with schedule changes; and make certain that each student is
progressing at a systematic, self-paced rate toward the ultimate goal of
graduation. And if other counsel is needed, the Director of Admissions is
readily available in Troutt Hall for additional assistance.
-
Next,
all students who need housing go to Student Services' Office
(Student Center, 3rd floor) for housing contract and meal plan information.
New students should stop at Student Services for a copy of the Student
Handbook and to obtain a student ID -- which is needed for all campus
services: books in the library, food in the cafeteria, and admission to
student activities.
-
Whether
a student receives loans or grants -- or no financial assistance at all -- a
stop in Financial Aid (Troutt Hall room 112) is required as the
next step in the process.
-
Then,
enrollment forms are turned in to
Registrar's Office.
-
Finally,
the Business Office (Troutt Hall room 220) provides an official
class schedule and fees statement.
