Women Move to 3-0
LINDSBORG, Kan.
– Four Drovers scored in double figures led by 16 points from Je’antel
Haynes as the University of Science and Arts beat Bethany College
77-61 Tuesday on the road.
Senior Nikki
Yager had her best game of the young season with 14 points on 6-of-7
shooting and four blocked shots. Sha’Donna Stewart added 12 points and
10 assists for her second double-double of the season, and freshman
Charite Lewis posted career-highs with 10 points and eight rebounds.
USAO jumped out
to a 32-21 halftime lead by shooting 48.4 percent from the floor while
holding Bethany to 28.6 percent. Bethany kept the score close by
hitting 9-of-10 free throws in the first half and 17-of-22 overall.
The Drovers
continue a Kansas road trip this weekend with games at Southwestern
College Friday and Saturday night. The team returns to the USAO
Fieldhouse for 6 p.m. tipoff against Langston on Monday.
