Drovers Ice Cold in
Loss
ALVA – As frigid as it was outside of Northwestern
Oklahoma’s Percefull Fieldhouse, the Drovers were just as cold inside
shooting only 33 percent from the floor in Tuesday’s 58-61 loss at
NWOSU.
Four players did finish in double figures for the
University of Science and Arts, but only six players managed to make
it into the scoring column. Oddly, NWOSU had the same problem with.
Brittany McBride and D’Shanna Butler did almost all of the work for
the Lady Rangers. The two combined for 44 points.
USAO did have a 30-26 advantage at halftime despite
posting its second lowest point total of the season by game’s end. The
Drovers only hit 9-of-30 from the field in the second half and 8-of-13
from the free throw line as NWOSU rallied for its third win of the
season.
Lindsey Monroe scored a team-high 15 points on 4-of-13
shooting. Sha’Donna Stewart finished with 11 points on 4-of-12
shooting but added five assists. Sasha Ferguson and Kartesha Rambo
finished with 10 points each.
USAO is at home against Oklahoma Christian Thursday
beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday’s game against John Brown which was
postponed due to the severe ice storm has been rescheduled for Jan.
29.
