Drovers Fall to OCU

CHICKAHSA – Three Drovers scored in double figures, but the University of Science and Arts came up on the short end of a 76-60 final against Oklahoma City Saturday night inside the USAO Fieldhouse.

Sha’Donna Stewart posted a team-high 17 points, but the Drovers could never get over the hump in their attempted rally. Down 38-28 at halftime, OCU opened the second half on a 13-4 run. After being down by as many as 21 points, USAO did catch fire for a few minutes and used an 11-2 run to close the gap to 64-53.

Solid free throw shooting sealed the win for OCU (20-5, 9-5) as USAO dropped to 13-11 overall and 6-8 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Kartesha Rambo finished with 12 points and four rebounds while Nikki Yager posted her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

USAO sits in sixth place in the SAC standings with four games remaining. League-leading and seventh-ranked Lubbock Christian visits the USAO Fieldhouse beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday with Wayland Baptist scheduled for the home finale and senior day on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
