Women Succumb to
Late Push
CHICKASHA –
Putting together an impressive second half, Oklahoma City proved to be
too much for the University of Science and Arts in Thursday’s 101-57
home loss.
USAO (9-4, 2-2)
had four players score in double figures including 16 from Katie
Sterling, but only five players scored for the Drovers as OCU racked
up 64 second-half points to put the game away.
In a game
marred by 52 personal fouls and 65 free throws, Stephanie Russell and
Lindsey Monroe posted 14-point games, but of course, both fouled out.
Russell hit three three-pointers and added seven rebounds. Monroe
connected on 4-of-5 shots and pulled down six rebounds.
Christina Brown
went 8-of-9 from the free-throw line to finish with 11 points in 22
minutes of action.
USAO will
travel to No. 12 Oklahoma Christian on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m.
