Overtime Goal Lifts DroversALVA – Talita Guindani scored the go-ahead goal five minutes into the overtime session Tuesday evening as the University of Science and Arts beat Northwestern Oklahoma 2-1 on the road. Guindani’s goal was assisted by Chickasha’s Jessie Brown and completed the Drover comeback after being down one goal in the first half. Edmond’s Alex Cernigliaro scored her fourth goal of her freshman season unassisted in the 22nd minute to tie the score at 1-1. Goalkeeper Destiny Rachal made eight stops on the night to help cement the win. The win moves USAO to 6-3-2 overall and 3-3-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Drovers are now in fourth place in the conference race ahead of NWOSU, John Brown, Southern Nazarene and St. Gregory’s. Oklahoma Christian leads the league with a 7-0-1 record followed by Oklahoma City at 6-1-1 and Oklahoma Baptist at 5-2-1. The USAO men and women are back in action on Friday at home against John Brown beginning at 1 p.m. ### |
