Women Shutout St. Greg’s

CHICKASHA – Chickasha senior Haley Critchfield led the Drover onslaught with her first two goals of the season in a 5-0 win over St. Gregory’s Tuesday at Drover Field.

Critchfield, a defender who rarely sees scoring opportunities, gave the University of Science and Arts a 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the game by netting two consecutive corner kicks from freshman Alex Cernigliaro. Amanda Caldeira added an unassisted goal in the 36th minute for a 3-0 halftime lead.

Chickasha’s Jessie Brown and Cernigliaro scored a goal each in the second half to extend the lead. Brown, Cernigliaro and Caldeira are tied for the team lead with five goals each.

The Drovers are still in fourth place in the SAC with a tough road test at undefeated and No. 11 Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. Friday.
