Drovers Continue Winning WaysCHICKASHA -- Winning streaks continued for the men and women soccer teams of the University of Science and Arts Tuesday as both teams blasted Bacone College in the final home non-conference games of the season. The men won 8-1 while the women collected a 4-0 win. The women (6-3-1) have won the last four games by a combined score of 16-1. Tuesday’s win was the men’s sixth in a row as the team improved to 7-1 on the season. The USAO men jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead Tuesday and never looked back. Tom Hubbard had a hand in each of the first three goals, scoring the first on a steal and assisting on goals by Wesley Costa and Freddy Oballa. Adam Day had a field day as well scoring two of the final three goals and assisting in three others, including Pinder Nijjar’s first collegiate goal. For the women, the Drover defense held the Lady Warriors to one shot on goal. Katy Swartzendruber earned her fifth shutout of the year, and Tiffany Treadwell torched Bacone for two goals and an assist. Chickasha native Haley Critchfield sliced through the Bacone defense for her only goal, and Tara Wallace scored her fourth goal of the season to round out the scoring. Now the teams turn all attention toward Sooner Athletic Conference play, which begins at 6 p.m. Friday at Southern Nazarene University. The SNU men entered the week 5-0-1 overall and ranked No. 4 in the nation. -###-arted off the field and taken to the emergency room. USAO dominated with 19 total shots and nine shots on goal. The Drover defense only allowed six total shots as freshman Shane Flanagan earned his first career shutout. Both teams host Bethany College, Kan., Friday beginning with the women’s game at 2 p.m. at Drover Field. -###-
